How to Get Involved

There are several ways for interested individuals and organizations to engage with Move to End Violence, including:

Engage and Share: On the Move, Move to End Violence’s Blog

Our blog, On the Move, was created as a space where activists, advocates, and allies committed to ending violence against girls and women in the United States can share lessons learned, visions for the future, success stories, and strategies for how we will achieve a world in which every last girl and woman is valued. Follow along and share your thoughts via comments and question. Or, consider authoring a blog yourself by filling out our online webform. Include your name, a very brief bio (4-6 sentences), and a short summary of your idea. Someone from Move to End Violence will be in touch within two weeks.

Convene a Building Movement Conversation

In December 2012, the Pilot Cohort of Movement Makers launched Building Movement Conversations. The purpose of Building Movement Conversations is to engage leaders throughout the movement to end violence against girls and women in exploring our vision as a movement—and what shifts we need to make in our work for that vision to become a reality. Through this process, we seek to build critical mass; catalyze a rich, nationwide conversation; foster alignment; and move forward together as a reinvigorated movement. Learn About the Most Recent Movement Convening

The final convening in every cycle will be an opportunity for Movement Makers to engage allies in strengthening the movement to end violence against girls and women. The first movement convening, Building Movement 2012, took place during the first week of December 2012. At Building Movement 2012, the pilot cohort of Movement Makers gathered with the second cohort of Movement Makers and a small group of advocates to share the work done to date. Apply to be a Movement Maker

Over the course of 10 years, Move to End Violence will select five cohorts (each cohort cycle lasting approximately two years) of Movement Makers. Learn more about how to apply.

The application phase for the second cohort of Movement Makers closed on July 11, 2012. We will open up the application process for the third wave of Movement Makers in the Spring of 2014.
